What is Nogata Station like?
Nogata Station, opened in 1927, is the gateway to a local town where the Seibu Shinjuku Line stops at every station. <>With access to Shinjuku in about 20 minutes and Takadanobaba in about 15 minutes, this town offers the warmth of a traditional downtown despite its excellent access to the city center.

Centered around Nogata Station, there are five shopping streets with rich individuality.
(1) Nogata Honmachi Dori & Cultural Market
A retro Showa-era market space that has been around since the postwar black market. Fresh produce stores and delicatessen shops line the narrow alleys, creating a nostalgic atmosphere as if you have stepped back in time.
2) Yaho ROAD Shopping Street
Just outside the south exit of the station is a small arcade filled with private stores. Lined with footwear stores and osteopathic clinics with a Showa-era feel, the atmosphere is warm and friendly, with conversations with locals.
(iii) Kitahara-dori, shopping street in front of the station
The busiest main street. It is the face of the community with many grocery stores and restaurants, and events are held on holidays.
4) Tokiwa Street
A quiet residential street dotted with small private stores. It is a quiet street where you can walk around feeling the local daily life.

🍽️ Nogata Shokudo (shopping street in front of the station)
Founded in 1936, this long-established teishoku-ya has been in business for three generations. The specialty is the “A” set meal, in which you can enjoy fried chicken and ginger yaki at the same time, and it is very crowded with locals at lunch time. In the evening, a light drink with sashimi and a small bowl of cooked food is also recommended.
🥟 Nogata dumplings
This gyoza specialty restaurant is famous for its crispy winged gyoza. You can also take them home, making them a perfect souvenir from a stroll along the shopping street.
Yakitori Omoriya Nogata 🍗 Yakitori Omoriya
This izakaya is popular for its juicy yakitori grilled over binchotan charcoal and its specialty, chicken nanban. A wide variety of meals are available, and takeout is also available.
